The building was developed on a project basis, which was a winner of an international architectural competition. It was strictly based on precondition to create a solution that is both modern in its design and complements the neighbourhood, full of historical buildings. Formation of historical architectural heritage - Churches of St. John and St. George - with the surrounding medieval buildings on one side of Skārņu Street and on the other side of St. Peter's Church. (source: Latvian Union of Architects) The project integrates wood/aluminium glazed structures that are manufactured in Latvia, based on Aile AltoNova system specification. Aile AltoNova, in addition to the high-quality aesthetic design, allows to ensure excellent wind and water impermeability, as well as excellent thermal insulation.
